Flash Movie Image Reveals First Look At New Costume Logo

Director Andy Mushchietti shared a new image from the DC Extended Universe's The Flash teasing a new costume logo for Ezra Miller's speedster. The twelfth installment in the Warner Bros. comic book franchise will see the titular hero race back in time to save his mother from being murdered, only to subsequently create significant consequences for the future timeline. Miller is leading a cast that includes Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, and Ron Livingston as Henry Allen.

Development on the solo Flash film has languished in development hell even before the start of the DCEU, with Jeph Loeb taking a stab in the late '80s followed by David S. Goyer in 2004, Shawn Levy in 2007, David Dobkin the same year, and Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim in 2011. Following the start of the interconnected franchise, several writers and directors continued to come and go on the film until Muschietti finally landed in the director's chair with Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson penning the script. With filming finally underway, the director has shared multiple teases of what fans can expect from the film, and he's not stopping anytime soon.

As production continues on the latest chapter in the DCEU, Muschietti took to Instagram to reveal a detailed look at the new logo featured in the film. Complete with more in-depth etching for both the white center under the yellow lightning bolt and surrounding chest area, it certainly is a far cry from the suit seen in Miller's franchise debuts with both cuts of Justice League. Check out the image below:

This certainly isn't the first time Muschietti has used his social media to share something for the film, be it his casting Calle as Supergirl or the first look at Keaton's Batman suit covered in blood. But the reveal of an entirely new suit for Flash is certainly one to create excitement for those who have been waiting for over 30 years for the character to get his due on the big screen. Where Miller's costume in Justice League had a look of somewhat shoddy craftsmanship, the first look at his new suit does point towards him finding a better tailor or improving his skills in the time between both films.

Whichever is the case, it's interesting to see another of the DCEU heroes getting to don a new suit for the future. Beginning with Gal Gadot's Amazonian warrior going gold in Wonder Woman 1984, the trend seems to be continuing with Zachary Levi also getting a sleeker makeover for Shazam! Fury of the Gods. With production reportedly near an end for The Flash and the DC FanDome returning in October, it's likely Muschietti and co. will offer a lot better look at what's to come from the long-in-development film soon.
