Marvel Revealed The Ultimate Way To Kill Wolverine | Screen Rant

Warning! Spoilers for Heroes Reborn: Weapon X & Final Flight #1 by Marvel Comics below.

In a world without the Avengers, the Squadron Supreme just discovered the best way to put down Wolverine for good. Wolverine has long been one of Marvel Comics' most unkillable heroes, largely due to his healing factor, which often prevents him from ever being fully killed. However, when Hyperion and Doctor Spectrum get a hold of the mutant in the Heroes Reborn universe, they make sure he won't come back again.

Wolverine has been on the receiving end of some gruesome and violent attacks during his time in Marvel Comics, as he's been decapitated, blown up, covered in adamantium, and even stabbed by his own claws. Still, no matter how many times it seems Logan is down and out for good, he keeps coming back. In the Heroes Reborn universe, where the Squadron Supreme are Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Avengers don't exist, Wolverine leads a team of Canadian heroes who face extinction by the superteam. The clawed hero proves to be a major problem for the group.

In Heroes Reborn: Weapon X & Final Flight from Ed Brisson, Roland Boschi, and Chris O'Halloran, Canada has been completely ravaged by the Squadron Supreme, as parts of the country have been annexed for their resources, while other provinces have been bombed and destroyed. Wolverine managed to kill Hyperion with his enchanted claws before, but when the Squadron Supreme returns for a rematch years later, they seek revenge on Wolverine. In a shocking betrayal, Sasquatch strikes a secret deal with the team to give up Wolverine in exchange for keeping everyone else alive. When Hyperion gets his hands on Wolverine, he uses his heat vision to burn him into a charred corpse.

The Squadron Supreme knows killing Wolverine isn't that easy. So after Hyperion destroys him, Doctor Spectrum uses his Power Prism to bring Wolverine's hollowed corpse to a planet in the Black Galaxy devoid of life, water, oxygen, and any sustenance. Spectrum leaves him on the abandoned rock, giving Wolverine no way to walk away, even if he somehow survived.

The image of Wolverine's barely put together body gasping for air on a dead planet without oxygen is horrifying. The Squadron Supreme ensured that Wolverine will never be able to come back should his healing factor somehow bring him back to good health. While it required both Superman and Green Lantern-like heroes to burn his corpse and stick him on a lifeless planet, the comic shows the ultimate way to kill Wolverine. Thankfully, the Heroes Reborn reality will likely fall apart soon, so Wolverine's death will likely be short-lived.
