The Best Yoimiya Build in Genshin Impact (Weapons, Artifacts, & Talents)

As Genshin Impact nears the second half of its Version 2.0 update, the release of the next 5-Star banner quickly approaches. This character, as revealed in the game’s update livestream, is Yoimiya, the owner of Naganohara Fireworks in Inazuma City.

Yoimiya is a Pyro bow user, who players already have the chance to try out in the first act of the Inazuma Archon quest. While Yoimiya hasn’t officially been released yet, her kit and details have, meaning players can already determine what her best build is most likely to be. Yoimiya’s kit gives the character the feel of a Main DPS whose damage comes mainly from her Pyro charged shots.

Normal Attack: Firework Flare-Up

  • Yoimiya performs up to 5 consecutive shots with a bow. When charged, flames accumulate on the arrowhead to deal Pyro DMG. At Charge Level 2, a maximum of 3 Kindling Arrows are summoned and are released along with the aimed shot. These arrows automatically target nearby opponents and deal additional Pyro DMG on impact.

Elemental Skill: Niwabi Fire-Dance

  • Yoimiya causes a ring of saltpeter to surround her. For a period of time after using her skill, arrows fired by Yoimiya’s uncharged Normal Attacks will be Blazing Arrows, which will deal increased Pyro DMG.

Elemental Burst: Ryuukin Saxifrage

  • Yoimiya leaps into the air and fires blazing rockets that target opponents to deal AoE Pyro DMG on impact. This marks one of the hit opponents with Aurous Blaze, which causes any attack done by any party member besides Yoimiya to trigger an explosion when hit.

Yoimiya’s abilities focus on allowing her Normal and Charged attacks to deal damage, so players should level up her Normal Attack talent first. Players can then focus on her Elemental Skill, and finally her Elemental Burst.

For artifacts, players believe that a 4-Piece Set of the new artifact Shimenawa’s Reminiscence will work best on her. This set increases ATK by 18%, and increases Normal, Charged, and Plunge Attack DMG by 50% when casting an Elemental Skill (if they have 15 energy or more). Yoimiya’s Elemental Skill focuses on increasing the damage of her Normal Attack, so this artifact set will increase this damage even more.

For artifact stats, players should use an ATK% Hourglass, Pyro DMG Bonus% Cup, and Crit DMG or Crit Rate Hat (depending on what the character is lacking). Sub-stat-wise, like most DPS units, players should prioritize Crit DMG and Crit Rate. Next, artifacts with an ATK% and Elemental Mastery will provide a nice additional damage bonus for Yoimiya. It’s important to remember Crit Rate and Crit DMG should be at a 1:2 ratio, so players can choose their artifacts accordingly for the most balanced build.

For her weapon, the upcoming 5-Star bow Thundering Pulse is considered to be Yoimiya’s best-in-slot weapon. This bow comes with a Crit DMG sub-stat bonus, and its passive provides a stacking ATK bonus based on energy (which synergizes well with the Shimenawa’s Resistance set). For free-to-play players, the new craftable bow Hamayumi is also a great choice. This bow provides an ATK bonus, and its passive provides an attack bonus for Normal and Charged attacks.

For team compositions, a support that can enable elemental reactions while off the field is perfect for Yoimiya. This makes characters like Xingqiu or Fischl great options. Including a Pyro character on the team as well (such as Bennett for an additional ATK boost and healing) will enable Pyro resonance, further increasing Yoimiya’s damage potential.

As Yoimiya hasn’t been released yet, players can’t be positive about how she’ll play. It’s possible that after some testing, different artifacts or weapons work better on her than the ones initially thought to be best. Because of this, players will have to wait until she comes out to be truly sure. However, leaks and release information have given players a fairly good idea about what will work with her kit, so players can prepare if they plan on rolling for the adorable firework maker.
