Turner & Hooch Clip: Romance Grows Between Scott and Erica [EXCLUSIVE]

The romance between Scott Turner (Josh Peck) and Erica Mounir (Vanessa Lengies) is starting to grow in this exclusive clip from episode 4 of Turner & Hooch, "In the Line of Fur." The series is a reboot as well as a continuation of the 1989 movie of the same name starring Tom Hanks. New episodes are available to stream Wednesdays on Disney+.

Peck plays Scott Turner Jr., a U.S. Marshall and the son of Detective Scott Turner, played by Hanks in the original film. The younger Scott inherits a French Mastiff, Hooch (played by  five different French Mastiffs), after the death of his father. Turner Sr. leaves the rescue animal to his son because the dog reminds him of his original pup  and all the good that came from their relationship. Buttoned up Scott doesn't want the responsibilities of an unruly canine companion, but soon comes to learn that this new partner may be just what he needs.

Check out the exclusive clip below featuring Erica, the head of the U.S. Marshall dog training program, showing Hooch some new tricks. Erica is clearly confident and comfortable around the dog, despite her bashfulness around his owner Scott. There appears to be a budding romance growing between the two characters as Erica stumbles her way around their interaction. Of course Hooch is perfect responding to Erica's every command while clearly ignoring his master. There's also an adorable appearance from Erica's dog Angel, who she has trained to find her keys.

The new Turner and Hooch series takes the characters and story from the original film and builds on them. Not only is Peck the son of Hank's character, but there might be more to the elder Turner's death than it originally appears. Scott and his sister Laura (Lyndsy Fonseca) discover that his death might not have been an accident and set out to discover the truth.

Hanks isn't the only character to get a shout out in the new Turner & Hooch series. Reginald VelJohnson, who played Hank's co-worker Detective David Sutton in the film, is set to make an appearance in the TV series. This time, Sutton has been elected as Mayor of Cypress Beach. His new position gives him power to aid the Turner family with their investigation into the death of his old friend.

Turner & Hooch season 1 consists of 12, one hour long episodes. The series also stars Carra Patterson as Jessica Baxter, Scott’s brave, street-smart partner; Brandon Jay McLaren as Xavier Wilson, a cool, enigmatic marine-turned-U.S. Marshal; Anthony Ruivivar as Chief James Mendez, Scott’s boss with a secret soft spot for Scott’s new dog; and Jeremy Maguire as Matthew Garland, Laura’s dog-loving son.
