The expansion will pay homage to Gothic horror with spirits, werewolves, and vampires, with the latter set to be a main focus of the new content. The Crimson Vow story follows vampire Planeswalker Sorin, who "attempts to thwart the fiendish Vampire noblewoman, Olivia Voldaren." The new MTG Innistrad: Crimson Vow expansion will offer new gameplay mechanics with continuous deck-building strategies, complete with a reimagined set of cards with alternate art inspired by the characters of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, fitting in with the theme of Gothic horror. Players will even find a Count Dracula planeswalker card inspired by Stoker's renowned works. Along with the Count, players can enjoy Fang Frame card treatments with unique border designs to match their extravagant characters.

With its focus on Gothic horror and its bewitching story, Crimson Vow could be one of Magic: The Gathering's most exciting and popular expansion sets to date.
